1. Can anyone be a driver or a shipper?
a. Yes - so long as you have a valid driver's license, a method of payment, and properly registered vehicle to transport packages (if you want to drive). Some other minor restrictions apply.
2. What can I ship?
a. Basically anything. Restrictions currently in place are ammunition, explosives (fireworks), gasoline, hazardous or bio-hazardous waste, opened containers of alcohol, poisonous substance, air bags, aerosol cans, illegal or illicit substances, ivory, corpses (cremated or otherwise), oh and firearms have certain restrictions. 3. I am allergic to flowers and dogs and basically everything, but I want to drive. What do I do?
a. You can express your driving restrictions in the Settings menu of the app.
4. Where can I ship?
a. Anywhere in the contiguous 48 United States.
5. My driving record sucks, can I still drive?
a. Probably. Since we don't transport humans, we don't have the same restrictions as other taxi-like services, but we always recommend checking with your insurance company to ensure that you aren't required to have special shipping, transportation, or commercial insurance.
6. What if my package gets lost or broken?
a. We have created a system which takes every measure to prevent lost/broken packages and we have an extremely high rate of transporting successfully. It is highly unlikely to lose a package. The first step to take is to notify us of the missing package as soon as possible! If SocialPost isn't made aware of the missing package within 14 days, there may be limitations on how much recovery can be provided. We strive to keep you notified during each step of the investigation. In the event that your package has been permanently lost, then you will be personally notified by our customer service department and specific action will be taken. As far as the driver goes, losing a package severely limits their future abilities to transport.
7. Are there limits on the number of packages I can transport at any single time?
a. There are 3 levels of drivers; Provisional, Novice, and Master. A Provisional can carry at most 2 packages at any one time. A Novice can carry 4 and a Master has no limit. To increase your driving level, successfully deliver packages with positive feedback.
8. Is all this safe?
a. Yes. For eons couriers operate with a high success rate. Recently, social taxi services have re-instilled in us that people helping people is generally good. SocialPost is no different.
9. Are there package size restrictions?
a. Yes. The maximum weight is 70lbs/package. Total dimensions shall not exceed 8 cubic feet or .23 cubic meters, and/or 5 linear feet or 1.5 linear meters. As a general rule, a single package needs to fit comfortably in the backseat of an average sedan.
10. What does it cost to ship a package?
a. Yes. We offer 3 flavors of flat rate shipping. Transit time vary with distance, however deliveries ordinarily occur the same day.
i. $6 "Saver". Allows you to ship a package up to 10lbs or 4.5kg. Max girth not to exceed 32 inches or 3 linear feet.
ii. $16 "Bumrush". Allows you to ship a package up to 25 lbs or 11.3kg. Max girth not to exceed 40 inches or 4 linear feet.
iii. $33 "Jetset". Allows you to ship a package up to 70 lbs or 31.7kg. Max girth not to exceed 54 inches or 5 linear feet.
